The note was written using Hebrew characters, and so I assume this is the language that angels use for official business. It took me a while to get the note deciphered because I don't know how to read Hebrew, but once translated, the note simply stated that "special circumstances" had held up delivery of the letter, "those which required the intervention of archangel Michael to overcome unexpected opposition," and "please accept our sincere apologies for the unfortunate delay.
But your letter did finally reach me. Now concerning the subject of the prophetic, I hope I understand correctly what you wrote to me. You said that my five categories were a rough but workable sketch of a complicated picture, but they needed more refinement. You also indicated that I needed an additional category called "Balaam. I should have thought of this category before. Thank you for your suggestions. Finally, you mentioned that Heaven is very much aware that the prophet situation here on Earth has gotten "very overgrown" and was due for some "radical pruning soon," and that "too many people were attempting to get in on the act who really had no business being there.
Let me say that, while researching this subject, I also discovered, much to my surprise, that within charismatic circles there has been an on-going recrudescence of Postmillennialism in various forms.
After taking this into account, it became easier for me to understand why some "prophets" were saying what they were saying especially those in category 1 and 3. And I suspect that this may also explain many of the things the Fireman has been "prophesying. But roughly speaking, I would say that it's the notion that the Church is somehow entirely responsible for implementing the Kingdom of Heaven here on Earth. Consequently, the Second Coming will happen only after the Church has been completely perfected and has somehow "christianized" all levels of society in all nations.
But I need to put off talking any more about this topic, Lonnie, because I need to move on to the main reasons for this letter to you. There is only so much lambskin vellum to write on. Maybe you can put in a request: If Roger were to get a friendly visit from an archangel…oh, wait, that might be too terrifying — I don't want to give poor Roger a heart attack, given how elderly he is, but you understand what I mean. In your last letter, you told me that Greg Laurie's new book would be out very soon, but you added a word of caution.
You said to me, "You should not be too surprised if Greg gets several things wrong. Greg has been actively promoting this book with plenty of advertising and fanfare. I immediately bought me a copy. And I have been carefully reading through it and taking notes.
So far I have gone through the book three times. Taking time on this is an additional reason for the long delay in writing an answer back to you. If I were to make a guess, it would be that the coauthor Ellen Vaughn did most of the actual keyboard grunt work producing drafts of the book. And she probably was responsible for most of the research while putting together the background material regarding what was happening in America in the s, s, and s.
However, I think it would be nearly indisputable that Greg Laurie was the person who had the final say about the content and objectives of the book, especially the biographical parts regarding himself and his wife, and the events surrounding pastor Chuck Smith and Calvary Chapel. This is why, hereinafter, I shall often refer to it as "Greg's book," not that I want to deny Ellen Vaughn her proper credit. You see, Lonnie, I don't think that your place in history can be erased, at least not entirely.
However, people can engage in various degrees of historical revisionism in an effort to spin things in certain directions. Now that I have read Greg Laurie's Jesus Revolution , I was disappointed to discover that his book is yet another example of this being done. I don't have any Seraphic parcel postage stamps; for if I had, I would just mail you a copy of Greg's book so you could read it for yourself and see what I mean.
But you are entirely correct. Knowing this tells me that there was a move of God taking place that was affecting untold numbers of young people far and wide. In this commentary, however, I want to focus on what took place in Southern California that became known as The Jesus Movement.
In actuality, there was a move of God throughout the earth touching the lives of many young people. I hope you can see the distinction. This is not to say that the move of God did not influence the Jesus Movement. If you know anything about the Southern California Jesus Movement, the name Lonnie Frisbee will be very familiar to you. In order to develop this topic properly in this commentary, it would take a book full of documentation.
For now, based on what has been written, I believe you will be able to connect your own dots and formulate an opinion. He had been living in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. Pastor Chuck invited Frisbee to be part of that group and help reach out to the hippies who were on the beaches in S. Few would argue that Frisbee had a strong influence in and largely symbolized the Southern California Jesus Movement. Lonnie was the first one, but many others would follow.
How can we know if something is not a move of God? They are summed up in these two words: The Pope and Kundalini. With those two signs in mind, we must ask, where is the evangelical church and many Calvary Chapels presently heading? It is clearer today than ever before—into the arms of Rome and ultimately an ecumenical global religion; and this will occur through a pseudo spirit i.
What I am saying is not crazy, and it is easy to plainly observe. Pay attention! Even though Lonnie Frisbee has been dead for many years, we must ask some hard questions: Why was Lonnie Frisbee buried in the former Schuller Crystal Cathedral Mausoleum? What about the Paul Crouch family burial site that was located in that same location but is no longer there today?
Why was the name of this location changed from Crystal Cathedral to Christ Cathedral and taken over by new management with headquarters in Rome? Stay with me. Bethel is a cult, Calvary Chapel was just short of a cult. I was there, I saw it and lived it. Lonnie was gay and vilified because of it, it was not something he chose, it was his nature.
Calvary Chapel was full of hypocrites, and men preaching end times. There was nothing good about it. Because we are blind is because we do not love his word and then led by our own personal prejudices! Spent many hours with him. I contributed financed and failed with Lonnie. I watched a preaching he did at the Vinyard later in his life. He moved me. Very together and funny and real. But listening to Lonnie himself, though edgy was moving to my soul. I feel like an outcast but I want more of Jesus. Lonnie is another Jim Jones and did take many with him Bu leading them to a spirit that is not from God.
I was at a Sunday night service at Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills in when after the service people were gathered around in groups fellowshipping. All of a sudden This handsome Young man came to my group and went around holding his hand over our heads. Later I found out that was Lonnie Frisbee. I was 36 at the time and he was The number 1 reason Christians are deceived is because they do not study their bibles but leave others to meditate for them!
These have conflated homosexual orientation with brokenness. I think Frisbee was brave and authentic in admitting his struggles. We have come a long way and learned so much. Only Jesus prays for us from heaven. There is no Biblical reference that I know of, of people who have died and gone to heaven praying for us. That is to say, if Calvinism is true God is not all-loving and perfectly good.
Quite unfair to suggest that Lonnie was expunged by the Vineyard. He is well recognised as the broken vehicle God used in the history of the movement, very much lauded, remembered AND appreciated in all his quirkiness, simple faith and incredible anointing. Struggling with sex-related issues does not make one broken. Not such a big deal, unless a person is struggling with actual sex addiction, whether heterosexual or homosexual.
Also, even a history of childhood sexual abuse does not necessarily make one broken. I have many friends who at one time of another confided to me that they were sexually abused as children, in most cases by a family member, or other trusted authority figure. Yes, most definitely. Are they broken? No, absolutely not. Did he see himself that way? Well this is true, many have come from dysfunctional families and gone on to make some kind of success of living.
Lonnie might have been dyslexic. Being Dyslexic might have added to teenage problems to get into drugs as well. God loved Lonnie Frisbee, called and anointed him, knowing full well the damage, the struggles and the outcome, which was mostly hugely positive, although troubling to religious people in some ways.
I also love Lonnie Frisbee, even though I never met him personally. I can feel his damage, his longings and struggles, and passion for souls. I have spent time with Tilson and Melodi Shumate, who knew and ministered with Lonnie. A few weeks ago, I took a hike up into Tahquitz Canyon, all the way to that same waterfall, to meditate and pray, and ask that God would have mercy on this younger generation as He did back in Whoever God raises up will not be perfect, and I hope the church can work with this person to see more souls come to the Christ who uses imperfect people to accomplish perfect things.
The truth was that Lonnie was a heterosexual who was severely abused repeatedly starting at age 15 and he suffered live-long material disorderedness to his sexuality as a result. However friend that makes him a prime candidate for counseling!

Chuck Smith and Calvary church had a 50 person average attendance before he came.
The Lord used him to bring in thousands. Not to mention revival in other countries, like Sweden. He ushered the moving of the Holy Spirit into the Vineyard Movement. And because of him, Vineyard went to a global denomination from his non prof. Excuse me!! Hello the guy died of AIDS! He was divorced and he kept it in the closet as long as he could. Why are you defending a deceiver that led many leaders ti be cult leaders themselves! The Bible tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
We cannot take it for granted. The Bible also talks about the man who sweeps his house clean, and then goes back and 7 worse demons come in. Working on a screenplay to develop into a motion picture. Lonnie did not own the title of being GAY! He struggled with it…. I have interviewed his ex-wife — Connie. Lonnie told her that. But there was no word for LGBT in the nineties. God told Lonnie that He was going to use the homosexual. Not perfect…but forgiven.
My story is to show that God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. That Lonnie was molested at eight years old by a 17 year old boy babysitter. How many people have been molested! Pride is far worse a sin than being Gay.
But as in Ezekiel 37 God is going to breathe upon those bones and bring forth another movement greater than the Jesus Movement. And like the prodigal son let us run and embrace them into the light of the love of Jesus. They will. When is a thief no longer a thief? Not really…they steal from each other in jail.
We must be born again to leave the old behind. The old and the new. There was a civil war raging in his chest and he eventually became of it. God once spoke through a donkey and Samson used the jawbone of an ass to slay many. Jesus asked about John the Baptist…what did you go out to see? A reed shaken by the wind? Lonnie was indeed fragile, as we all are, yet the wind got a hold of him for a season.
I never met Lonnie…. I was saved at a Keith Green concert in Oregon in July of 78….. Years later, I met a guy named Danny C. I have never heard anyone speak of Lonnie like this. First off I believe he was married at the time, never was there any sign for Danny C that Lonnie was gay guess he has a handle on it, this was like Danny and Lonnie had a big falling out over this.
